Hecklers got it all wrong at yesterday's conference speech by Tony Blair.

Instead of cries about hunting and Iraq as the core themes - spurted out by well-dressed young men who could easily be man-handled out of the venue - a trick was surely missed by the blue rinse set who would have made it much more difficult for Tony to issue comments about “democracy”. Imagine the headlines if a few elderly pensioners with canes had been pounced on by eager card-carrying members of the Labour Party merely for raising their voices over meagre state pension payouts.
