Chirin Capital is set to launch the Chirin Asia Absolute Alpha fund.
The Dublin-domiciled, Ucits III fund will invest in Asia excluding Japan, but including Australian markets. Chirin, a specialist Asia Pacific fund manager, said the fund will seek to outperform the MSCI AC Asia Pacific ex-Japan index on the upside and will use futures, options and tactical cash weightings to preserve capital through market downturns. The aim is to enhance long-term compound returns through reducing volatility, particularly the downside, for investors, it added.
