BNY Mellon AM expands Middle East regional team

BNY Mellon Asset Management has hired Thomas Connolly as managing director, head of asset management for the Middle East region.

Connolly will be responsible for developing the asset management business in the region. He will be based in the Dubai branch, working alongside Aki Akiwumi-Thompson and will report to Pauline Stuart, executive director of international business for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Most recently at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) where he was responsible for the management of portfolios in the equity and fixed income departments, Connolly was formerly a senior analyst in the equity research department at Bear Stearns, New York.
