Jersey confident of avoiding G20 crackdown

Jersey is convinced it will not be included in any crackdown on offshore jurisdictions by the G20 nations.

Geoff Cook, chief executive of Jersey Finance believes the jurisdiction has "nothing to fear" over comments made by Brown and Obama as the island "is neither a secrecy jurisdiction nor is it uncooperative and the evidence is clear to support this". European leaders as well as Brown and Obama have declared their intentions to 'blacklist' 'uncooperative' countries and jurisdictions in a bid to claw back lost tax.
