Germany, Canada and Spain top expat integration poll

Germany, Canada and Spain have been voted the easiest countries in which to settle, yet most expats buy property in France, according to HSBC Bank International.

The final report in HSBC's Expat Explorer survey, Expat Experience surveyed 2,155 expats across four continents to examine the integration challenges faced by expats relocating to a new country, looking at the cultural and social differences experienced. Expats were asked whether they made friends with locals, joined a local group, learnt the language or bought a property in their host country. Canada is the most welcoming country to expats, with 95% of respondents saying it was easy to make friends with locals. Germany and Australia were close behind with 92% and 91% respectively. Co...
