African countries dominate the global 'evacuation map', with Kenya topping the list of countries from which expats are evacuated for medical reasons, according to Bupa International.
Research from the health insurer found Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Angola make up six of the top ten countries for medical evacuation. Furthermore, half of evacuations undertaken by the firm each year originate in Africa, with South Africa the leading destination for evacuees. However, after Kenya, Russia is the second most common country for evacuation, while Indonesia takes third place, with China, Nigeria and Uganda all claiming joint fourth.
