Television star Martin Clunes has been accused of depicting Guernsey as a 'tax haven' in a television programme by the Island's state officials and the general public.
According to reports, the star of Men Behaving Badly has been slammed for portraying the island as a "haven for the super rich and drug smugglers," on ITV show 'Islands of Britain'. Guernsey deputy Barry Brehaut says the programme was a "squandered opportunity" which was detrimental to Guernsey's reputation after Clunes branded the island a "tax haven". "It is a label we have been working so hard to get rid of and from the start the programme he is talking about the island as a tax haven," he says.
