The National Stock Exchange has revealed that assets in US-listed ETFs and ETNs amounted to around $489.2bn at the end of March 2009, marking a 16% decrease from March 2008 when assets totalled to around $583bn. Net cash inflows from all ETFs and ETNs totalled to around $8.1bn, while notional trading volumes amounted to around $2trn in March 2009, constituting 38% of all US equity trading volume.
