Thames River has closed its Dublin-domiciled Japan fund following poor performance and a lack of demand for funds investing in the region. As a result, the team including Mark Fawcett and Huw Llewellyn, has left the group. Thames River Japan suffered redemptions and poor performance prior to closure last month. For the year to 30 September it posted a loss of 18.25%, according to Lipper. The fund, previously headed up by Rod Birkett, had also seen its assets fall to around $30m.
