Man equity fund offers alternative to capital protected products

Man Investments has launched its first ever publicly available long/short hedge portfolio targeting returns of 7%-10% net of fees with a volatility of 6%-9%. The open-ended Man Glenwood Equity Opportunities fund will itself invest in two portfolios – 75% in a high return-seeking fund of long/short funds, and the remaining 25% in a market neutral portfolio. With a minimum investment of $30,000 or equivalent, an annual charge of 1.5% and a performance fee of 10%, the fund is a move away from high-margin capital-protected products and back into more traditional investment structures.
