Broker firm AWD has expanded its presence across Europe by acquiring UK-based Chase de Vere from Bank of Ireland. This takes the number of advisers at AWD throughout Europe to more than 6,000. AWD has businesses in 11 European countries, its most significant presence being in Germany. It also has firms in Switzerland, Austria and Italy, as well as Eastern Europe. Chase de Vere, which cost a fifth of the price that Bank of Ireland paid for it five years ago, is AWD's third IFA acquisition in the UK over the past four years.
