Network members are being encouraged to become directly FSA regulated, as rules for appointed representatives are changed to accommodate depolarisation. It will also be the network who decides which companies' products that individual will be advising on. Chapter 6 of the FSA's Reforming Polarisation: removing the barriers to choice explains ARs are no longer required to have only one principal - ie the company which takes responsibility for its compliance and complaints procedures - except in relation to investment business.
