Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) has launched a private equity joint venture company with David MacLellan, former managing director of Murray Johnstone. Royal London Private Equity (RLPE) has been created in order to raise funds for investment in private equity opportunities in the UK and mainland Europe. The venture will be run out of the RLPE offices in London and Glasgow. MacLellan, managing director of RLPE, said it will manage Royal London's portfolio of private equity funds and direct investments, with a total value of around £60m.
