Budget airline passenger numbers surged in May as routes were added and travellers defected from full-service competitors, according to EasyJet and Go Fly, the no-frills rival EasyJet plans to take over next month. EasyJet flew 898,080 passengers during the period, some 43% more than a year ago, the London Luton-based carrier said. Go's passenger count rose 89% to 531,160, according to the airline.
