Demand for payment protection insurance (PPI) has surged due to the world's economic downturn beginning to affect the jobs market, according to Paymentcare.co.uk. The PPI provider says that with recruitment falling at its fastest rate in seven years and unemployment expected to increase by up to 300,000 in the next few years, it has seen a 'significant' rise in enquiries about policies including cover for unemployment.
