The ifs School of Finance has called for Government to drop references to personal finance from the maths curriculum and to cease claiming the functional maths GCSE, to be introduced in 2010 will enable people to master personal finance issues as it will do no such thing. The call came on the back of research from FSA and London School of Economics that concluded combining maths and finance education was a flawed approach to raising financial capability.
