I'd 'hate' to sell to a consolidator – one adviser's DA goal

Financial adviser Rohit Rohela has the goal to become directly authorised (DA) and avoid having to sell his business to a consolidator, he tells Professional Adviser.

Founded in February 2021, Rohela's firm Finsbridge Financial Planning is a trading style of Aegis Financial Planning. He is managing director and independent strategic adviser. Rohela told PA that becoming DA is his main aim for the firm. "To be in control of your destiny, you need to be directly authorised," Rohela said. "A goal I have for the next two years is to go directly authorised. I might change my mind after a detailed review, but for now, that's where I see it going—once we're of the right size and my team is more experienced, I'll take that next step."
