So what is going on in the annuity market right now? One thing that is going on is that people are still looking at their funds and realising they are less now than they were 18 months ago. If markets go down by 50%then effectively they need to rebound by 100% if people are to recover their loss. People are looking to either defer their retirement or else they do really need to start drawing an income. These circumstances mean that asset backed annuities are becoming more popular as they allow people the opportunity to benefit from market upside. This is why we introduced the Income Choice...
