Tony Roberts has been appointed to the Japanese desk at Perpetual as a fund manager reporting to Paul Chesson, head of Japan. Roberts was formerly an associate director in the Japanese equities team at Clerical Medical Investment Group, headed by Sharon Dodgson. Adrian Paine has resigned as head of Europe for American Express Bank's retail funds. Paine will now set up his own hedge fund company, to be called Mako. He was also head of the team which ran the AMEX Europe Epic fund. Paine's deputy, Gavin Corr is set to replace him. Diane Wilde and Ross Watson have both resigned from Gartmore ...
