US fund of funds manager SEI Investments is looking to enter the UK pension fund market.
The group has a range of Dublin-based products for its US clients and wants to provide segregated services to UK pension schemes. In addition SEI is looking to provide trustee, custodian and consultancy services.
Simon Ewan, formerly director of UK sales at Frank Russell Company has joined to develop SEI's institutional business strategy in the UK and Europe. At Frank Russell he was responsible for sales to IFAs, smaller pension funds and high net worth individuals.
Owen Sweetman has also joined the company as operations and marketing planning director for SEI's business in the UK. He was formerly director of the managed funds division at Marsh & MacLennan.
Patrick Disney, previously at Morgan Grenfell and now managing director at SEI, said: "At the moment we are concentrating on the institutional market but we are not ruling out a retail strategy further down the line.
"We are trying to leverage our experience in the US where we have been very successful with registered investment advisers, US equivalent of IFAs, in providing both investment and administration packages."
