"Do you think I should have a mission statement?" asked the chairman of the improbably-sized investment company Prandeamus Asset Management when I dropped by to see him this week. "That depends," I replied. "Were you planning on telling the truth?"

"Why do you insist on saying such unkind things," huffed the chairman, trying his best to look hurt. "Clearly I am talking about a mission statement for the company and, anyway, what would be so wrong with my own life mission I would need to lie about it?"
