I am always a bit more wary when my audience is not financial advisers and last week, expecting a group of solicitors, I was faced by about 25 barristers. Naturally my subjects were pension freedoms, retirement and other subsidiary issues that would (hopefully) be interesting to a family lawyer. We must always remember that pension funds can be a significant asset, perhaps on a par with house value, and as we live in a more litigious society there are more and more claims to the money, which will mean the need to work with solicitors and barristers on occasion.
