Protection product sales have already been affected by the economic downturn, prompting insurers to ask what they can do to attract new customers and to retain policyholders. There is no doubt insurers have been the subject of criticism and poor publicity in respect to declined claims over recent years which has greatly affected consumer confidence in protection.
