The ABI is working on guidelines for teleunderwriting as the next stage in its work to make application forms clearer, and it hopes to publish them by the end of the year after a consultation with the industry. Debbie Smith, chief underwriting officer at Royal Liver, says one of the most important issues for the ABI to cover is ensuring people who teleunderwrite have professional qualifications.
