JPMorgan proved to be the clear winner in this category, both for its popularity as an investment house and for the prospects for its JPM Japan fund run by David Mitchinson. Mitchinson took on the fund in October 2004 and, if his reputation with multi-managers is anything to go by, he has proved to be a shrewd investment for the group, which hired him from Framlington. JPMorgan received five votes overall, with three for Mitchinson's JPM fund. He is a firm believer in the restructuring theme and tends to focus on smaller, domestically oriented companies.
