IHT and the home

The recent UK pre-budget report contained little good news to cheer individuals who face IHT on the family home. An announcement was made that rules would be introduced to prevent individuals from removing the family home from their estate whilst at the same time continuing to live in it. At the time of writing detail is lacking, but after the change it will be more difficult to continue living in a property without breaching the gift with reservation rules.
