UK fund managers have been positioning their portfolios towards growth stocks, with the best opportunities being found in the energy and aviation sectors. John Bearman, head of UK equities at Insight, is positive on the UK equity market and as a result of bottom-up selection is favouring growth stocks. Both the Halifax UK Growth fund, which is managed by Insight, and the Insight UK Equity fund have an overweight position in stocks, which have benefited from higher oil prices, currently around $63 (£33) a barrel.
