Tax harmonisation is being whole-heartedly embraced by Jersey to demonstrate to the EU the island does not engage in any harmful tax practices. However, low-value services will suffer in such a commercialised environment

As a result of EU tax harmonisation measures, Jersey, along with the majority of the other offshore financial centres, will be required to adopt proposals which will impact the tax payable by corporate entities resident in the island. On the face of it, this could be viewed as interference by the EU in the domestic affairs of a non-EU member and resisted at all costs.
