As the FTSE 100 broke through the 6,000 mark for the first time in five years in April, many investors remain positive on the UK. Ray Milne, managing director of Halifax Financial Services, says: "The stock market has endured a turbulent time over the past five years, but it is encouraging to see the FTSE 100 has risen past the 6,000 mark once again. Since the start of 2006, the total shareholder return of the FTSE 100 is 6%, a healthy return for a three-month period."
