There are some growth prospects emerging in the pan-European markets. Areas that have been showing signs of improvement include economically sensitive sectors and companies that have a monopoly and have strong pricing power. According to Dominic Baker, fund manager on the pan-European desk at Threadneedle, the forecast for pan-Europe is relatively sanguine and he predicts a 2.25% GDP growth rate for the area.
