The offshore life industry over the past few years has undergone a period of change and consolidation. There are fewer players in the industry and competition remains tough. For companies whose main priority is selling back into the UK, inheritance tax (IHT) products are the most popular trend; for companies selling into Europe, with-profits still remains the product of choice; and for the Middle East and Asia, protection type products, as well as regular savings, are the main focus.
