Although investors and intermediaries alike generally treat protected investments with some caution, the products can actually provide a good long-term investment opportunity

The icy cold winds that have swept the stock markets over the past three years seem to have driven a similar need for protected funds. They are clearly in demand and supply has risen to meet that need with over 300 protected fund issues last year alone.
