Advances in technology will shape the future of the private medical insurance (PMI) sector, it was asserted at the AMII conference last Thursday. Dr Sandy Scott, director general of the Chartered Insurance Institute, said the PMI sector tended to follow in the footsteps of the general insurance sector, meaning "More use of technology will be on the cards." AMII chairman, Phil Taylor, added that technology would be the most important driver in the sector in the coming years.
