It started while I was waiting for a plane. I had been reading the paper when something piqued my interest. It was just a snippet on page five, sandwiched between an article on Brexit, a cryptic crossword and a collection of ‘famous birthdays'. The snippet was a list, and it contained the subjects adults wished they had been taught at school but had missed out on. Top of that list was ‘how to budget' and ‘how to handle money' with 42% and 39% of adults respectively wishing they had learned more about these subjects at school.
