Aegon's phone lines close and Hargreaves Lansdown makes service cuts

Aegon's phones lines have been closed and Hargreaves Lansdown has made several temporary cuts to its services as coronavirus continues to cause businesses to make changes.

In line with government guidance on coronavirus, Aegon closed its offices and said it is therefore unable to answer the phones. If advisers have a query, they have been encouraged to contact the firm online. It said customer services are currently being managed via online forms. Aegon chief distribution officer Ronnie Taylor said: "Following the prime minister's announcement on Monday placing restrictions on all but essential movement, we have taken the decision to close our offices and move all staff to work from home.
