In the UK the FTSE 100 Index has started well, adding 27 points to 4,921.4 points, led by Rentokil Initial.
The pest control firm has increased its value by 350p to 16550p, while Corus Group is up 1p to 55p. BHP Billiton has also added 1250p to 72350p in morning trading, on rising oil prices. Fallers include Carnival, down 25p to 2881p. In Tokyo stocks climbed on the back of advancing oil- related stocks including Inpex, after crude prices traded above $55 for a second day. Japan’s Nikkei 225 Stock Average added 0.5% to 11,723.63 at its close early this morning, buoyed by oil exploration firm Inpex up 4.5% to 600,000 yen.
