The FTSE 100 index has fallen a fraction this morning to 5,041.6 points, led by Corus.
Corus, the metal producer, has lost a penny to 59p, while financial institutions HBOS and Prudential are also down 9.50p to 876.50p and 4.25p to 469.75p respectively. National Grid, meanwhile, is trading 9p higher at 542.75p. Stocks in Japan advanced, led by technology firms, after analysts advised investors to buy purchase in this market. In Tokyo, the benchmark Nikkei 225 Stock Average also added 0.1% to 11,646.49 at its 3pm close, led by Elpida Memory, Japan's only large-scale producer of DRAM chips which increased by 5.8% to 4,590 yen, after it said it aims to double its market s...
