FTSE bounces back

In the UK this morning, the FTSE 100 index is back on the rise picking up about 7 points to 4,776, paced by MM02.

The mobile phone firm has added 5.75p to 111.75p after reporting better than expected results yesterday, while adding it will give investors their first dividend. Old Mutualis up 2p to 123.25p after the company, which sells one in three South African life insurance policies, reporting life sales rose 5.6% in the first nine months of the year. Friends Provident is up 3p to 145.75p. Dixons has shed 10p to 156.75p on fears of a slow-down in sales. The retailer has issued a ‘cautious’ outlook for the rest of the year. GUS, owner of Argos and Homebase stores, has lost 13.50p to 879p, ...
