FTSE close to 5,300 mark

In the UK the FTSE 100 Index has climbed 34.60 points to 5290.40 led by Yell Group.

The search engine has added 9p to 441p, after analysts maintained its rating at hold. BG Group advanced 9.75p to 501.75p, along with Royal Dutch Shell up 28p to 1805p and 29p to 1871p for it’s "A" and "B" shares respectively, after oil prices climb for a third straight day. Accounting software provider Sage Group meanwhile, has dropped 1.5p to 223.5p. In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 Stock Average slipped 0.3% to 12,413.60 at its close early this morning, however the benchmark still gained 4.3% over the month, the biggest increase since the start of the year.
