AXA Fram hires SV's Smith for Biotech fund

AXA Framlington has appointed Andy Smith to run its Biotech fund from April.

Smith, who will report to the firm’s CEO, Robert Kyprianou, joins from venture capitalist SV Life Sciences where he managed its International Biotechnology trust. SV has announced David Pinniger, a former Morgan Stanley analyst, will come in to replace Smith. Before joining SV, Smith managed the Bioscience investment trust for five years, initially at 3i and then at Schroders when the trust transferred management house in 2004.
