Alliance Trust, the investment services provider, saw revenue rise £14.2m to £82.6m in 2007 after boosting holdings in more stable asset classes, according to the group's annual results.
Alliance Trust boosted its private equity allocation by 2.6% to 5.4% compared to 2006 and doubled its property income to £4m, or 3.4% of net assets, as stock markets plummeted last year. Katherine Garrett-Cox, chief investment officer of Alliance Trust, says: “We increased investment in private equity during a more difficult year for quoted equities.
