The FTSE 100 index has declined 18.8 points this morning to 5,042 points, led by Hilton Group which is down 6.75p to 312.75p.
Steel specialist Corus has also dropped 1 penny to 58p, along with Schroders, which is off 13p to 767p. Recruitment Group Hays, meanwhile, has gained 2.25p to 130.25p, with oil firms Rio Tinto and BHP Billiton adding 27p to 1786p and 10.50p to 736.50p respectively. In Japan stocks declined, led by exporters including Toyota Motor, after the dollar dropped against Asian currencies. Nikkei 225 Stock Average shed 0.4% to 11,605 at its close early this morning, while Toyota dropped 1.2% to 4,080 yen.
