FTSE continues good form

In the UK, the FTSE 100 Index has added a further 11 points this morning to 5,102, paced by ITV.

The broadcaster has moved 5.25p higher to 121.25p after it had its annual licence fee cut by regulator Ofcom to £80m for 2005, from the £215m it paid last year. BAA, the website for BAA airports also lifted 20.5p higher to 619p. At the other end of the table, Gas firm BOC Group has declined 13p to 1030p, with Emap losing 8p to 786p. In Japan, the Nikkei 225 Stock Average advanced 0.6% to 11,577.44 at its close earlier today, representing its highest total in almost three months, led by exporters including Honda.
