Rising oil prices and a further drop in the insurance sector has contributed to poor early trade in the UK markets this morning.
The FTSE 100 benchmark index is currently down around 4.7 points to 4618 points. Mortgage and savings provider, HBOS has lost as much as 10.5p in early morning trading, leaving it currently standing at about 749.5p. Both BA and Prudential have carried last week’s fortunes into this morning’s session, with BA trading down about 3.75p to about 202.25, with Pru down about 6.25 to 456p. Early winners include, BOC and mobile incumbent, MM02, up about 16p to about 886p, and 2p to about 102p.
