In the UK this morning, the FTSE 100 index is trading steadily this morning adding 9.4 points to 4732.2 points, after the Federal Reserve reported a steadily-paced US economy.
Hanson, a producer of sand and gravel, increased 12.5p to 427p after the company announced that annual profits would meet analyst estimates. Banking groups Lloyds TSB and HBOS have also gained again this morning, continuing yesterday's rally adding 6.25p to 450.5p and 12p to 818p respectively. Home improvement retailer Kingfisher leads the drop, shedding 13.25p to 292.75p, after it reported a slowdown in third quarter earnings, held back by expansion costs.
