CTFs still confuse parents

Awareness of Child Trust Funds has increased since last summer but many parents are still confused over eligibility requirements, says the Association of Investment Trust Companies.

Around three-quarters of parents among the 2,000 adults surveyed are now aware of CTFs. That said, about one in six parents (17%) of non-eligible children still believe they will receive CTF vouchers, the AITC’s research suggests. More than half the parents (58%) surveyed say they plan to deposit the vouchers in a bank or building society account, with just 8% planning to put the money into stock market-based investments.
