The FTSE has climbed a fraction in London this morning, led by Rentokil Initial.
The pest control firm has dragged the UK benchmark about 2 points higher to 4966.60 points, with Rentokil adding 2.25p to 150p on reports of a takeover bid for small cleaning products maker PHS. Cleaning products manufacturer, Reckitt Benckiser, has subsequently advanced 22p to £17.02. High street brands including Boots and Marks & Spencer meanwhile, have fallen, down 18p to 588 and 7.50p to 330p, respectively. BSkyB has also fallen 12.50p to 533p.
