The FTSE 100 index has slipped a couple of points to 4,884.2 points today, thanks to a new acqusition for William Hill.
The betting firm has shed 14.50p to 510.50p after it agreed to purchase Stanley Leisure betting shops for £504m and move ahead of Ladbrokes as the UK’s industry leader. Energy group, Centrica has also declined 4.75p to 227.5p, after a national newspaper reported the firm might palm off their gas-transportation businesses to buyout company, Terra Firma Capital Partners. Meanwhile, shares in mining group Xstrata, have increased 24p to 932p, while copper miner Antofagasta has picked up 25p to £10.77, after the price of Copper for delivery on the London Metal Exchange (LME) in three months in...
