The FTSE 100 Index has profited 18 points to 4989.80 points, as it marched back towards the 5,000 point mark today, paced by the Hilton Group.
The Hotel chain has added 9.75p to 284.75p, after a newspaper report suggested it might sell its Living Well fitness-club chain. Hanson is also up 9p to 506p, along with O2, up 2.25p to 126.75, on the back of better than expected results. On the downside, food chain Morrison Supermarkets, has shed 2.50p to 191.75p, while Daily Mail and General Trust has lost 7.50p to 659.50p, after suffering a ratings downgrade by Morgan Stanley. In the US the Dow Jones Industrial Average has picked up from a good previous week, adding an additional 35 points to 10,506.34 in its morning trading session. ...
