Resolution has appointed Hugh McKee from Prudential as head of new business, a role created when the firm acquired the life companies of Abbey last year.
McKee, who was at his previous company for 22 years, will be responsible for leading the development of the Scottish Provident and Phoenix business lines sold through Resolution’s different distribution channels of intermediaries and Abbey retail.
At Prudential McKee was wholesale risk management director responsible for sales of bulk annuity and other products to insurance companies and pension schemes.
He said: “I’m delighted to be joining Resolution at this stage in its development.
“We have a fantastic opportunity to develop a very strong and profitable new business wing for the company.
“Scottish Provident has an extremely strong heritage in the intermediary protection market – we aim to build on this and grow our market share going forward.
In conjunction with the Abbey we have a strong retail protection business which both sides are committed to developing.”
Gavin Stewart, managing director for new business at Resolution, who McKee will be reporting to, adds: “This appointment is a further demonstration of our commitment to support and grow the new business franchise of Resolution and our belief in the value we can generate from it.
“We are delighted to have attracted an individual with the experience and capabilities that Hugh brings to us.”
